Holy Scripture calls for God's people to "sing unto the Lord". We lift up our voices in songs of rejoicing & praise, worship & adoration, sorrow & lament. Here at St. George's music plays an integral role in our liturgy. Our celebration of the Eucharist each week is punctuated with the sound of communal singing. The 1928 Book of Common Prayer ensures that our worship is rightly ordered and our music provides a rich connection to our long and deep Anglican heritage. Our primary sources for corporate song are the 1982 and 1940 hymnals with more modern hymn expressions occasionally finding their place alongside these timeless hymns of our faith.
Our parish is blessed with two choirs who share in offering an anthem during the 9:00 & 11:00 worship services. Repertoire for St. Gabriel's children's choir and the St. George's adult choir draws on the best of sacred choral music from motets and anthems of early masters like Farrant, Byrd and Tye to newer choral classics. It is our desire to offer the best we can in our worship and provide our choristers and parishioners alike with music that sings our faith and connects us with the great company of saints who have gone before us.
